The US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) has confirmed that its experimental satellite NTS-3 will be launched by a United Launch Alliance (ULA) Vulcan rocket in 2022. The satellite NTS-3 (Navigation Technology Satellite 3) is to test experimental technologies related to satellite navigation. In particular, technologies on this mission may be utilised on future GPS satellites.

NTS-3 will be manifested with the classified USSF-106 mission for the United States Space Force. The Vulcan rocket is expected to undergo its maiden launch next year in 2021.
