After the successful test of the new Kurs-NA docking system and the re-docking of Progress M-015M to the International Space Station on 29 July, the spacecraft finally left the station for good on 30 July. The undocking occurred at 2120 GMT. While the craft was docked with the station on 29 and 30 July, the onboard crew entered the freighter and removed the Kurs-NA system which will be returned to Earth, probably on the next Dragon resupply mission, for analysis why the cold caused the initial aborted re-docking.
Progress M-015M now in autonomous flight will be used to conduct scientific experiments until 20 August when it will be de-orbited over the Southern Pacific Ocean where most if not all of the craft will burn up in Earth’s atmosphere. Any pieces that do survive re-entry will sink in the Ocean.
