Soyuz TMA-015M was launched by a Soyuz FG at 2101 GMT on 23 November 2014 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome launch site near Tyuratam, Kazakhstan. Aboard the spacecraft were three crew on their way to the International Space Station (ISS): NASA Astronaut Terry Virts, Roscosmos Cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov of Roscosmos, and ESA astronaut, Samantha Cristoforetti. The spacecraft used a “fast approach” technique that is now commonplace on these missions docking with the ISS six hours after launch at 0248 GMT on 24 November at the Rassvet module.
