The WorldView 2 spacecraft which has 0.45m resolution imaging capacity has reportedly had a debris shedding event. The cause of the mini-break up event is unknown but the spacecraft reportedly shed eight items on 19 July which were reportedly tracked by the US Joint Space Operations Centre (JSPOC).
The spacecraft, which is operated by the Digitalglobe firm, is reportedly working operationally after the event. Launched in October 2009, the satellite officially has a seven year minimum lifespan which the satellite is nearing. While WorldView 2 is officially civilian, it does supply military imagery on a commercial basis
