Cambodia signs up for Chinese build and launch of comsat called TECHO 1

On 11 January 2018, China Great Wall Industries Corp (CGWIC) and Royal Group of Cambodia signed a Framework Agreement for CGWIC to oversee the construction and launch of the TECHO 1 Communications Satellite Project. The signing took place in the Peach Palace, Phnom Phen, witnessed by visiting Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen. The satellite is likely to be launched on a Long March 3C rocket and built by the Chinese Academy of Space Technology (CAST).
