China launches Feng Yun 3C weather satellite using Long March 4C rocket

The Chinese meteorological satellite Feng Yun 3C was successfully launched into a sun-synchronous low Earth orbit at 0307 GMT on 23 September 2013. The 2,200kg satellite was carried into orbit by a Long March 4C launch vehicle which lifted off from the Taiyuan launch site in China. The spacecraft was built by the Shanghai Institute of Satellite Engineering.
