Three Yaogan-35 Group 02 satellites were launched from the launch site of Xichang, China by a Long March 2D (CZ-2D) rocket at 0222 GMT on 23 June 2022. The three satellites are thought to be similar to the YAOGAN 35 trio of remote sensing satellites launched in November 2021. Two of the three are thus thought to be optical Earth imaging satellites, while the third is a Radar satellite. All three are also expected to have a SIGINT (Signals Intelligence) function.
Officially, according to Xinhua, the satellites will be used to conduct science experiments, land resource surveys, yield estimation of agricultural products and disaster prevention and reduction.
