China’s latest addition to its Beidou navigation satellite constellation, Beidou 3 M3-S was launched on 1 February 2016 on board a Long March 3C/YZ-1 (CZ-3C/YZ-1) rocket. The launch took place from the Xichang launch site at 0729 GMT. The 1N014kg satellite which is built by SECM – Shanghai Engineering Center for Microsatellites is to take its operational place in Medium Earth Orbit.
