The UK-based mobile communications GEO satellite operator Inmarsat has appointed Rajeev Suri to replace Rupert Pearce who steps down as its CEO at the end of February. Suri was the former CEO of the Finnish firm Nokia which was once the dominant player in the mobile telephone market. Having lost this lead in the smart phone revolution Suri oversaw a successful repositioning of the Nokia firm to supply telecommunications infrastructure.
While the innovative cubesat manufacturer, Clyde Space (now called AAC Clyde Space), is a much smaller player in the space industry, nevertheless, its success meant that its founder Craig Clark became very much admired. He is leaving the company which was merged with AAC Microtec in 2018. While Clark became a multi-millionaire in the process, the former CEO of the firm had stayed on as its Chief Strategy Officer.
