On 10 May 2019, a 77 per cent majority of Inmarsat plc shareholders agreed to the purchase of the company by a private consortium, Connect Bidco Limited (Bidco), formed for this purpose. The deal is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
The purchasing consortium, Bidco, comprises Apax Funds, Warburg Pincus Funds, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board. It is based in the British Crown dependency, Guernsey.
