Kuaizhou-11 (KZ-11) returned to flight at 01:15 GMT on 7 December 2022 from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. KZ11 successfully sent the traffic management satellite Xingyun Jiaotong VDES aka Jiaotong VDES to orbit. It carries AIS tracking and VDES data relay payloads. This flight was the second launch of the three-stage mainly solid rocket after its maiden flight failure in July 2020 when its third stage suffered a suspected ignition failure. Kuiazhou-11’s third stage managed to make post boost deorbit burn (presumably using a supplemental engine) after satellite deployment.
