Two Pakistan-owned satellites have been launched from the Jiuquan launch site by a Long March 2C-SMA rocket at 0356 GMT on 9 July 2018.

The 1200kg PRSS-1 satellite was built by Chinese Academy of Space Technology (CAST) and will be used for natural disaster monitoring, agricultural research, urban construction and imagery of the region.

The 285kg PakTes-1a satellite was built by Pakistan and is a combination imaging and engineering training satellite with the optical payload being supplied by South Africa.
