A Proton M Breeze M (Phase 4) rocket successfully launched Cosmos 2533 (Kosmos 2533) at 0020 GMT on 21 December 2018 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome near Tyuratam in Kazakhstan. The launch of the Russian military communications satellite, aka Blagovest 3, was apparently brought forward from its originally planned launch date of 24 December. The spacecraft was built by the ISS Reshetnev firm using its EXPRESS 2000 (14F149) bus/platform design. The satellite will be based in geostationary Earth orbit (GEO).
