Launching on 30 August 2019, from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, Russia, a Rockot launch vehicle has carried the GEO-IK-2 3 satellite to a Low Earth Orbit (LEO). The GEO-IK 2 satellites are third-generation Geodetic satellites launched for the Russian Ministry of Defence. The analysis of the Earth’s gravitational field has both peaceful and potential military applications.
