At 1744 GMT on 21st March 2018, a Soyuz FG rocket rose from its launch pad at the Baikonur launch base near Tyuratam in Kazakhstan. The rocket was carrying the Soyuz MS-08 (ISS-54S) spacecraft which held three crew who were being carried on their way to the International Space Station (ISS). Those aboard were cosmonaut and Soyuz commander Oleg Artemyev, US Astronaut Andrew Feustel and US Astronaut Richard Arnold. All three have spacewalk experience and are expected to take part in “extra vehicular activity” during their stay on the space station.
