KTsat has chosen Arianespace to launch its next telecommunications satellite, Koreasat 7, using an Ariane 5 rocket from the Guiana Space Center, Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana, in 2016.
Weighing at 3,500 kg launch mass and built by Thales Alenia Space, Koreasat 7 will have a payload power of approximately 7kW, Koreasat-7. Being a medium-class communications satellite.
Koreasat 7’s communications payload of Ku-band and Ka-band transponders will serve Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia and India from its 113 degrees East in the Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO).
