At 0515 GMT on 28 September 2014, China launched a new military satellite called Shi Jian 11-07 from the Jiuquan launch site in China using the Long March 2C launch vehicle. The spacecraft, which uses a CAST 968 bus built by the DongFangHong (DFH) Satellite Company (Part of CAST), is planned to replace the Shi Jian 11-05 which was lost in launch failure. While the exact nature of the spacecraft has not been disclosed, it is believed to carry infra-red sensors for ballistic missile early warning.
