Cosmos 2504 has made a major orbital change on 3 July 2015 when it lowered its orbit. The satellite went from a 1181 X 1528km (82.49 degree inclination) orbit to a 1124 x 1476km (82.68 degree inclination) orbit. This rendezvous test spacecraft may be carrying on its interception and rendezvous experimentation which it has been undertaking since April. On 14 April 2015 the craft actually nudged the targeted Breeze KM upper stage enough enough to change its orbital parameters.
Western intelligence analysts are concerned that this spacecraft may be a precursor to “killer” anti-satellite (ASAT) inceptor spacecraft.
