A Delta IVH-4050H (Heavy) launch vehicle successfuly launched the NRO L-65 mission payload for the US National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) from the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California at 1603 GMT on 28 August 2013. The spacecraft carried to orbit on the launch is thought by analysts to be a KH-11 (Kennan) reconnaissance satellite which is designed to conduct an electro-optical reconnaissance mission from a Sun-Synchronous near polar low Earth orbit.
