In a press conference today to talk about the 26 March return of the second Dragon resupply flight from the International Space Station, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk let slip a few details about Dragon’s Version 2.
The capsule will evidently have thrusters mounted along the sides of the capsule, and instead of landing in water will touch down gently on the land using retropropulsion and retractable legs.
Though the design will not be formally unveiled until sometime later this year, it fits with Musk’s goal to build a wholly reusable spacecraft.
