The Russian rocket manufacturer, Khrunichev, has a new director general – albeit an “acting” one. Andrey Kalinovsky who previously worked for Sukhoi’s civil aircraft division, has been formally appointed as the new Acting Director General of the Khrunichev State Space Research and Production Centre. The firm produces the Proton rocket and its new Angara successor launch vehicle.
Andrey Kalinovsky succeeds Alexander Seliverstov, who served as the Director General of KhSC from October 2012 until August 2014. Seliverstov has left Khrunichev to become vice president of the new overarching Russian state-run space corporation, the United Rocket and Space Corporation (URSC), which Khrunichev effectively becomes part of as a consolidated subsidiary. Seliverstov will serve under United Rocket and Space Corporation’s new Director General Igor Komarov.
