Es’hailSat of Qatar has selected the Japanese spacecraft manufacturer, Mitsubishi Electric (MELCO), to build the ES’HAIL 2 communications satellite for the firm. The spacecraft is expected to use the DS-2000 bus design. The Es’hailSat firm plans to operate the satellite over 26 degrees East in Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) where it secured Ku-band rights from Arabsat.
