In June, NovaWurks Inc. and Spaceflight Services Inc signed a launch sub-contract for the second NovaWurks Payload Test Bed (PTB) mission to be carried on the Sherpa spacetug which itself is planned for a launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 in the third quarter of 2017.
The PTB-2 mission will used NovaWurks’ HISat (Hyper-Integrated Satlet) bus design which will carry customer demonstration payloads and experiments. The HISat bus provides hosting services such as power, attitude control and communications for up to 75 kg of customer payloads. Novawurks previously announced the first launch subcontract with Spaceflight Services for the PTB-1 (Payload Test Bed Mission-1) which would be similarly launched on a Falcon 9/SHERPA mission in the Fall (Autumn) of 2016.
