In was announced during September that the commericial satellite operator SES has joined up with Panasonic Avionics Corporation. SES will provide multi-transponder Ku-band satellilte capacity on its recently launched SES-6 satellite for the service which will allow passengers travelling on transatlantic jets to have full internet connectivity as they travel. The on-board systems that will allow this to happen will be provided by Panasonic Avionics via its Panasonic Global Communications Service offerieng. The system will also allow the airline to monitor systems on the aircraft via satellite relayed telemetry.
