The European launch provider Arianespace has ordered six more Soyuz launch vehicles to fly from its Sinnamary launch site near Kourou in French Guiana (part of the Guiana Space Centre) during the next four years. According to the Russian state news agency Tass, the firm has ordered six more Soyuz-ST rockets from the Russian Progress plant in Samara which adds to the seven launch vehicles Arianespace already has on order under an April 2014 contract worth US$400 million. So far 10 Soyuz-ST class rockets (a version of the Soyuz 2 with a Fregat series upper stage) have been launched from French Guiana.
