Having ordered six spacecraft from SSL (Space Systems/Loral) in January, the Google owned satellite imaging firm, Skybox Imaging, has rebranded itself as Terra Bella. And the inspiration for this name? Well the firm is located on Terra Bella Avenue in Mountain View, California. The firm has launched two 83kg spacecraft to date (Skysat-1 and Skysat-2), but, excluding this latest order, has a further 13 120kg Skybox earth imaging satellites which are being built by SSL awaiting launch.
