The US spacecraft manufacturer, Space Systems/Loral has been selected to provide the Intelsat 36 communications satellite to international satellite operator, Intelsat S.A. The spacecraft will use a version of the LS-1300 bus design.
From its position over 68.5 degrees East longitude in the Geostationary Earth Orbit, Intelsat 36 is designed to provide Ka-band and C-band capacity to allow media and content distribution services in Africa and South Asia. Africa’s pay TV provider Multichoice has reportedly agreed to take the Ku-band payload.
