The Hyperbola poll: What next for NASA? by Rob Coppinger | Dec 12, 2008 | Seradata News | 2 comments Soon to be a regular feature of Hyperbola, OK, well when I feel like it 2 Comments Vladislaw on December 12, 2008 at 9:10 pm Good poll. I am a big fan of the Ares V. I would have prefered different strap on boosters but what the heck, at 207 tons to LEO, I am not complaining. Eurostar on December 16, 2008 at 3:14 pm Just voted for commercialising LEO, although its really half this and half “Mars or Bust”. Can only see limited potential for a lunar base, unless this is to pilot and eventually use operationally, a magnetic launch rail device, thereby giving better access to Mars and the rest of the Solar system. Any manned lunar programme has got to be seen to be a sensible stepping stone toward humans on Mars, and putting humans on Mars only makes sense if it leads to a permanent outpost.
