The project contract regarding to development and manufacturing of Turksat 6A has been signed in an official ceremony by the President of Turkish Republic Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on 15 December 2014 with the satellite’s construction being awarded to Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) along with Aselsan and CTech under the direction of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).
The financial budget for the program is shared by Turkish Ministery of Transportation, Communication and Maritime Affairs, Turksat and TUBITAK. As part of the project TAI will co-develop Satellite On-Board Data Handling Software, Command & Control Software and Assembly, Integration and Test activities with TUBITAK Space.
The final assembly, integration and test activities of Turksat 6A Satellite will be performed at the TAI’s Facilities in Ankara.
