Two more GPS satellites are ordered by US Air Force

In a contract modification worth $246 million two GPS Block 3A satellites have been ordered by the US Air Force from Lockheed Martin.  GPS IIIA – 7 and GPS IIIA-8 have been ordered to be constructed and the spacecraft are expected to be completed by April and October 2018 respectively.  The pair are the seventh and eight GPS IIIA series spacecraft officially ordered for the US Air Force’s navigation satellite constellation which also have civil applications.
