Zenit-3SLB launches Israeli Amos-4 communications satellite into orbit

A land variant of the Zenit 3 rocket series, the Zenit 3-SLB successfully launched the Amos-4 communications satellite for the Israeli Spacecom service on at 2005 GMT  on 31 August from the Baikonur launch site near Tyuratam in Kazakhstan.  The Amos-4 satellite was built by Israeli Aerospace Industries and will offer communications services to Russia and the Middle East as well as parts of Asia from its position of 65 degrees East in the Geostationary arc.
